It's not possible to be more worried about the procedure to my foot than I was. My blood pressure went so high before the operation and it was all down to nerves. I was having an MTJ fusion to my foot. I was scared about all of it - what I'd feel, how I would cope after as I live on my own, would I be able to swim and ski after - everything.
I elected to have a nerve blocker and sedation which was fantastic. A nurse stayed with me (James) all the way through it and the anaesthetist explained everything to me. I knew my foot was having something done to it but I didn't have even the slightest painful sensation. Nothing. I know I even dozed off at one point.
I did feel some pain later at night but a nurse brought me pain relief meds and since then I've had no pain at all. I went home the next day and followed all instructions. I'd recommend buying a plastic foot stocking (only a couple of pounds) so you can shower easily but the reality of the op has been so much better than the imagined discomfort or difficulty.
Seven weeks on and the scar is barely visible. I could swim easily after the wound healed (3 wks) and I can even get my ski boots on which is something I would not have thought possible.

I have used the New Spire hospital twice now. outstanding service both times. You are made welcome and treated well throughout. the staff are always there to help, as are the Doctors. from the moment you meet the person on the reception desk to seeing a consultant, even through Covid and all the issues this has created Spire Nottingham has been great. highly recommenced

All staff very attentive.
Effective administration, excellent location, plenty of free parking, all appointments were on time.
Clean and pleasant premises; excellent hygiene and Covid related controls.

firstly I want to say a massive thank you to Mr Oluwole for sorting me out I can now walk without pain and having to stop after years of struggling to get even a few yards, he is such a kind and caring person I was (almost) sorry to be discharged, my thanks also to Dr Said Habib and his team for their part in helping me last but not least to the staff at Spire Nottingham for the care given to me from start to finish I have been treated with respect, caring and kindness - Thank You to you all

All staff were outstanding from the minute I arrived to the minute I left post surgery. Nurses could not do enough to help, even through the night-shift.
